Transcendentalism (The Power of Choice)

The philosophy of transcendentalism is hallmarked by the concept that Divinity pervades all nature and Humanity. Leaders of this philosophy included Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau. It developed as a reaction to rationalism, a precursor movement. Immanuel Kant believed that in order to understand the nature of reality or truth, one must first examine and analyze the reasoning process that governs the nature of the experience. The core values of the philosophy include: individualism, idealism, and the divinity of nature. 


Transcendentalists view God as an Essence through metamorphosis nature; one that can be experienced "like a gentle breeze sublime's to pleasure the senses of all." they are their own authority. I think that I personally believe in a bit more social collusion than a pure transcendentalist, but I find a lot of value in the philosophy. 


Throughout this work, I hope to introduce and explore both religious and philosophical beliefs and ideas which I believe can exist in harmony with each other. At times I may promote a religious viewpoint and at others a non-religious one; I say this to prepare my reader for the potential confliction you may feel between ideas which are often used to describe each other. But, which I believe is more truly mutually supportive. I deeply believe that truth can be found in many schools, all things. And I believe self-actualization in exploring, extracting, and applying kernels of Truth we discover everywhere. The process of connecting or extrapolating these truths is how we build our own truth and that is the core of our self-identity.

Alignment (Morality and Ethics) I don't know if you have any familiarity with pen-and-paper RPG-type games, but I'm going to borrow the concept of "alignment" commonly used in determining character behavior. Talents

What are your talents? What inspires your interest?  The terms "talents" and "skills" are often used synonymously. However, I do think there is a subtle difference. I think there are certain things which come more naturally or easily and others which require diligent practice and study. One might notice this most in talents such as artistic or athletic "gifts" which some seem to be born with. Perhaps they are genetically predisposed to these talents, or perhaps their familial or societal environment helps them develop them early, or some combination of the two. But, I believe the difference is mostly minute. I believe that the keys to developing any talent are desire and practice. Do you know what your talents are? Introduction and Disclaimer

In this blog, I have a desire to capture some of the philosophical, metaphysical and personal truths that I've spent my life searching to uncover. I will post about once per week. I don't claim, in any way, to have the answers or any indisputable truths to share. But, it is my belief that we are not meant to be alone, to walk alone... I don't believe that we can make it that way. In fact, I don't believe that it is possible to truly learn from oneself. I think we require others to gain truly new information, insights and thoughts. It is only when we connect together that we actually grow outside of our own boundaries and become more. No man nor woman is an island. I think this is a fundamental truth that it feels like the world has forgotten. So, to this end, I wish to open up a dialog.
